(none): original guess correct
blue: incorrect guess [Prefs-Incorrect]
black: previously checked guess now correct [Prefs-Corrected]

Input: if enabled, each new guess is checked as it entered

Pencil: if enabled, each new guess is displayed in gray [Prefs-Pencil], to separate uncertain guesses for later visual checking
