Animated Newt's Cape

This document contain some examples of and guidelines for animated GIFs.

Suggestions for finding appropriate animated GIFs:

• browse first on desktop (directories/search pages not small/simple)
• small in size <8-10K and/or small number of frames
• longer delays (> .25 secs) (fewer frames; better LCD refresh)
• good contrast/few colors (so maps well to b&w or grayscale)
• make sure you have enough store memory available.
• be sure to turn on animated? Image cache option (requires Newt's Cape 1.4r-2 or later)
