Introduction

The helper app defined in this document registers with Newt's Cape to handle the text/plain MIME Content-Type, just for the .pgn file extension. Once you install it, Newt's Cape dispatches any .pgn file to this app, which in turn offers an overview of chess games, which can be copied to Notes, or eventually directly to Deep Green.

Be sure to enable i:General:NewtonScript:Compile.

The Form

For testing purposes, the link below simulates a file. Tap on it after doing an Install; an overview should appear; select item(s) to store in Notes.

If you have a cached text file (using text/plain HTML Cache preference in Newt's Cape 2.0o2 or later), you can select one of those while this helperApp is installed;

After de-install, select a text item or link again -- Newt's Cape displays text in a book. Note: for large text files, this can take a few minutes, so try a short (or the earlier embedded) file.
