You can access several sample puzzles, or .puz files synced or saved to local system; or .zip files [Reg users].

- site: select a subfolder ([Reg] or .zip file) containing .puz files
- puzzle: after a list of puzzles appears, select a specific file (1st is default).
- select Open button to use that puzzle.
It is possible to set a local host or site(subfolder) as a Startup preference: Favorites: Startup
CrozzWord can be started with a local puzzle, on some platforms (and this overrides the Startup preference):
- Zaurus
- CrozzWord starts, but without file; Qtopia/Jeode issue?
- Macintosh Classic (8.1-9.2)
- drag&drop .puz onto CrozzWord icon
- or doubleclick .puz saved by CrozzWord
- Macintosh OS X
- after launching CrozzWord, use Open With, Other, Show All Applications, CrozzWord
- Windows
- initially: right click .puz, Open With, Choose Program, Other, \Program Files\CrozzWord\CrozzWord.exe
- later: doubleclick .puz, if you set "Always use this program to open these files"; otherwise, right click, Open With, "Launch Anywhere GUI"
