CrozzWord: select letter/word/direction | toc |
There are several ways to select a letter or word in puzzle:
- use left/right/down/up arrow on keyboard
- tap/click a square with pen/mouse
- select clue from Across or Down menu
- use select wheel (Zaurus)
- type Tab or Enter key to go to "next" word in current direction
- [default]
- start of next word, i.e. for next clue
- Skip: Word
- next empty square
- with Check: Input
- next incorrect or empty guess
- enter a guess -- next square is selected; if Skip: Letter is on, next empty square in word is selected (with possible wraparound); with Check: Input, next empty or incorrect square in word
- use Home, Page Up, Page Down, End via keyboard for current direction
The current letter highlights in green. [Pref: Select]
The current word and scrollbar and clue (across or down) highlight in cyan. [Pref: Word]
Normally, the current letter/word stays visible after Enter or entering a guess; if Skip: Scroll is turned off, scroll manually as needed.
There are several ways to set the direction to across or down:
- use arrow keys
- drag pen/cursor from a square to another in that direction
- select clue from Across or Down menu
- use select wheel
- toggle Edit: Across menu command
If the across or down clues are clipped in the menus, you can either make the clue font smaller for all clues (Prefs), or select View: Clues to display the current clues (and any cross-references) in a scrollable window.
