Once you have downloaded a puzzle or have started to solve a puzzle, you can save it to reopen later in CrozzWord.

Recent

Displays a menu of puzzles saved recently via File: Save Recent.

Save Recent

CrozzWord saves puzzle in the crozzword/recent folder; you can easily reopen this later using File: Recent -- via menu command or Startup preference. CrozzWord maintains the most recent 8 puzzles. Tapping "Save" in quit dialog uses Save Recent.

Save As

To save and organize more puzzles:

1. select File: Save As
2. select a directory. default: directory of current puzzle if local; crozzword/recent/ is same as File: Save Recent except that filename can be modified; crozzword/tmp/ can be used for puzzles to be deleted when CrozzWord exits
3. if not saving to an existing Documents directory, create directories by prefixing a path to filename, e.g., puzzles/litsoft/mypuz.puz
4. enter a file name. default: current file name, including "_save" (by convention) if there have been guesses

note: due to undocumented features of the file format, a .puz file saved by CrozzWord and transferred to another system may not open in other crossword applications, e.g., Across Lite.
