utopiaOver the past 40 years, we have seen amazing growth, benefits and possibilities with the Internet -- along with emerging social, political and individual problems. This lecture will highlight some issues behind current news and government proposals related to Internet network and information accessibility: for example, "digital divide", "IP address exhaustion", "network neutrality", "bandwidth caps", "kill switch", and censorship. The lecture is intended for the casual internet user, to explain some of the jargon and map the underlying ideas and trends.
